Praying “At Sea with LT” cruise, Holland America’s Westerdam

What an honor to pray “At sea with LT” on Alaskan Cruise, Holland America’s Westerdam for such beautiful souls!

We prayed with nearly 800 group members, ship crew, and other passengers. Some received salvation. Praise God.

The crew (many from Indonesia, the Philippines, and Thailand) were especially gracious and hospitable. One young man serving us in the dining room kneeled in reverence. Then, Danny asked, “Do you want to receive Jesus?”

And it was so, the young man accepted Christ.

Group prayer at Dawes Glacier was spectacular. Prayer and laughter with Ms. Senior Georgia, Ruth Natoli. And a best friend received the Lord after 30 + years of intercession. What a touching request from Becky of the Isaacs for healing in her leg: she wants to be able to once again pray on her knees. How humbling.

As a close to our trip, we thanked Captain Vincent Smit and his crew for their overwhelming hospitality and consistently exceptional service on the Westerdam of Holland America.

“This has never been done before.”

What do you mean?

“A presentation like this, to the ship’s Captain and crew.”

We thought, “Can we show our gratitude? It is simple, a thank you, and a gift of our flag, from our hearts to you.”

“I will speak to the Captain,” said the Guest Services Host. And Isobel made it so.

No agenda, no politics — human to human; gratitude, kindness, service, respect.

“I have never seen the Captain so engaged!” exclaimed Isobel.
